Théâtre Ten', the word «Ten'» in Russian means shadow, was established in Moscow in 1988 by a family couple - Maya Krasnopolskaya and Ilya Epelbaum. It was the first Russian family theatre.
Just from the beginning, the theatre started to realize the most unusual and unexpected theatrical and artist ideas.
You can see some puppets and shadow performances in Ten', but it should be emphasized that there are no strict genre frames in Ten' theatre. In performances are widely used techniques and various genres of theatre (shadow, opera, ballet and even mysteries), and other types of art (visual, film, etc.). Each new performance is not similar to the previous one.
Theatre Ten' have received 10 "Golden Mask" (main theatre award in Russia). Theatre regularly takes part in more than 100 international festivals, it is involved in projects with the Ministry of Culture of Russia, devoted to the culture of different countries (the "Year of Culture of France in Russia" and "Year of German Culture in Russia", etc.). Under this program, Theatre went to China, France, Germany, India, Korea, Turkey and other countries.
